Budget Hunters, Score Affordable Home Decor At These Mumbai Markets

The information in this post might be outdated

It’s no secret that the city’s filled with markets. From fabrics, to pottery, to decor and furniture, Mumbai’s markets are synonymous with the city. Across these markets, you’ll easily find vendors for both high-end and affordable products. So, if you’re a youngling who’s off to build their first home, or a seasoned homeowner who wants to make pocket-friendly upgrades. Saunter off to these markets!

Chor Bazaar

Well, how could we not kick off this list with THE Chor Bazaar? While its oddball monicker can sound a little unsavoury, this market has LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Walk right past the clothing and shoe stores and stalls, and head to the section that has new and antique furniture. You'll easily find wall hangings from Thailand, China and even the Middle East.
What To Buy: Score antique, designer knock-off, and secondhand furniture here. You’ll also be able to score vintage posters and curios at the area's many decor and 'showpiece' stores.

Oshiwara Market

An eternal fave of the #LBBCrew, this market is chock full of vendors who can craft antique-style furniture for you, and has a wonderful curation of secondhand decor, too. It’s not a huge market, but it’s a totally unmissable one. Be prepared to spend hours perusing and being super distracted by pretty things while you're here.

What To Buy: Vintage frames, mirrors and colonial furniture

Bandra Furniture Market

This market’s quite close to Bandra station, on the western side. Walk along the length of the pedestrian bridge, and you’ll soon be surrounded by stores that have not just secondhand furniture, but also stores that sell affordable cane furniture and decor. Store after store is decked with cane lamps, wall hangings and handmade utility items, like wall shelves and serving trays.

What To Buy: Cane lighting options, MDF furniture, metal and wrought iron decor

Crawford Market

Yet another cornucopia, Crawford has vendors that sell affordable AF imported goods, locally produced handicrafts and more. The best part? You can score most of these products at wholesale prices. We spotted kawaii stationery and desk essentials, loads of neon lighting, and PVC furniture.

What To Buy: Instagrammable decor, Pinterest-inspired wall art and cane decor

#ProTip: You might have to request some vendors to sell you a single piece.

Goregaon Link Road Market

Between InOrbit Malad and MG Road, there's a line of stores that has all kinds of furniture - affordable and expensive. There are around 25 stores in the area that have vintage-inspired furniture, decor from all over the world, and furniture that's perfect for short-term use, too. Stores like Living In Style, Ideal Furniture, Furniture Point, etc. have products for all budgets.

What To Buy: Every kind of furniture there is, whether it's OTT gilded furniture, or MDF basics!

#ProTip: This market will sort you out for light fittings, too!
