What's Happening

Art enthusiasts listen up! Akara Art in Colaba is continuing their 10-year celebration with a series of exhibitions showcasing established and up-and-coming artists at their gallery. Their current ongoing exhibition named 'The Wonder Journal' is a solo show by Vadodara-based artist Utkarsh Makwana.

The series of exhibitions kicked off with a display of Anita Shergil's works, and this is the fourth exhibition in the series of 10 shows that they have planned for their 10-year celebrations.

Inspired by Indian mythology and folklore, Makwana's artworks weave a narrative that unfolds piece by piece as make your way through the exhibition. What's fascinating is that the artist blends the imaginary world with the realities of every day life and creates stories through his artwork that's known for its distinctive colour palette and geometric compositions.
