Baaya Design, a home décor store in Lower Parel, lets you experience the beauty of traditional and tribal art, murals, installations and furniture that can transform your living spaces to a whole new level.
They peg themselves as a place where ‘design meets tradition’ where they create customised offerings for interiors using the skills of artisans across the country (we’ve already pinned a few products from their catalogue!)
Shibani Jain, their founder, started the store with the objective of bringing back traditional and tribal art with a contemporary twist and we must say, their collection’s unique and can really light up a home.
Promoting over 40 original and authentic art forms such as Thangka art, Kutch Lipaikam surface work, Blue Pottery tile work, Kalamkari Warli, Orissa and Bengal art and Gond art amongst others, and this helps provide an income to the grassroot artisans (huge brownie points for this!)
The store’s truly an inviting space and you can expect a mix of new and innovative art, artefacts, zany furniture, mirrors and rugs, apart from the classic range that they already have.
This store is a whole new world – they have some of the most quirky artifacts we’ve seen (can you imagine seeing the whole of Ramanyana painted on a box?)
Here, you can get pretty much everything to do up your home – unique tribal art, furniture, murals, art installations and much more. For the house, we loved their beautiful coasters, lovely lights, lamps, gorgeous clocks and much more. The studio also offers design solutions for homes and offices and has a vast range of products that can easily give a makeover to our space.
This store also features a design studio where they help design products for a host of people (residence, offices and more), so if you have any wild ideas, you know where to head.
