Exercising doesn't have to be a punishment. It's just about finding that one thing that gets your endorphins going, works your muscles, builds your stamina and feels like fun. And if you've love playing badminton, and are looking for a place to play badminton that's not your building compound or a road late at night? We hunted down the badminton courts you can use–all without a membership.

Andheri Sports Complex

This sports complex, bang in the middle of the Andheri suburb is really handy–it has an indoor badminton court as well as an outdoor one. You do not have to be a member here, and you can go and pay as much as you play. Though the prices per session are slightly steep, the sessions are longer than the others. Enjoy a total playing area of 10,000 sq. ft!

Timings: 6 AM to 9 PM

Price: From INR 234 to INR 396 per hour

Bhagini Samaj

This one is for the Dadar East dwellers, and anyone willing to travel to Dadar. Bhagini Samaj at the Hindu colony has an indoor court. You do not have to take any membership, just go there, book your session (individually or for the group) and pay by the hour.

LBB-Tip: Head there as early as possible on weekends, or be prepared to sit on the sidelines and watch others play as they only take bookings there.

Timings: 7 AM to 10 PM but we recommend you give them a call before heading over

Price: INR 354 per hour

Mandar Apartments Park

Right opposite the Mandar apartments on Yari road (Seven Bungalows), there’s an open, well-maintained park, which has two outdoor courts. In perfectly good condition, you’ll find many badminton players coming out there to play. It’s an open park and you don’t have to pay anything, but you may have to wait to book the court for yourself or your group, as it’s generally booked and packed.

Price: Free

Celebration Sports Club

This well-equipped sports club at Lokhandwala has a lot of facilities. It has one large indoor court, with blue carpeting and also offers coaching for children. Though you need a member to come with you, the guests can play here between 10 AM to 3 PM, a bummer during weekdays but a bonus for the weekends.

Price: Weekdays INR 300 per hour, weekends INR 400 per hour

Goregoan Sports Club

Goregaon Sports Club has six fantastic indoor courts. The only catch here is you need the member to tag along. So, if you do have a member, you can go and play there, and they even provide shuttle cocks at an additional cost.

Price: INR 120 weekdays, INR 150 on weekends, guest entry charges at INR 30

Timings: Book a slot from Monday to Sunday

NSCI

The NSCI courts at Colaba have been privy to the likes of Indian superstar shuttlers Saina Nehwal and P.V. Sindhu’s training sessions. The main badminton room has three courts–two wooden-surfaced courts and one synthetic court. The spacious room is fully air-conditioned with high ceilings and space all around. The other two courts in the Old Wing are also wooden-surfaced courts.

Timings: The New Court timings are 12 PM to 9.30 PM on weekdays, 7 AM to 4.30 PM on weekends, and 2 AM to 11.30 AM on bank holidays
