You can count on Bombay to have a safe space that is inclusive of absolutely everyone, can’t you? Living up to that, Bambai Nazariya is the newest spot in Versova that welcomes you with love, retro feels, pops of colour and a door mat that says Swagath Aahe. What’s even nicer is the story behind the cafe, that begins with founder Diego Miranda’s father, and his respect for the Hijra community. So, in his father’s footsteps, Diego too has hired people from the transgender community as part of the cafe’s staff. Quirky cushions, straight-up honest framed sentences like “We Work For Tips, A#*holes”, go here for solace, quiet time, or to be inspired. We hear it's a bit tricky to find in Aram Nagar, but if you know Mukesh Chhabra's casting office, then it's behind that office.
We’re still to try the food and chai, but one look at the Instagram page that shows flaky croissants, chai straight out of the kettle in typical tea glasses, lasagnes, quiches, puffs, coffee, and we’re sold. In fact, thanks to the IG post on the special Pink Chai and the Chicken Pepperoni croissant, we have our first order sorted. But, much more when we check it out IRL. Meanwhile, Nazariya Badlo, Nazara Badlega.
