Ask any old school Mumbaikar and they will say Town is the true ‘Bombay’. Sorry to disagree, Townies, but Bandra is where the party is at nowadays! People make the effort travelling to Bandra from all across, town and suburbs alike to check out the hottest party places and the coolest joints around because once you party in Bandra, you don’t want to be anywhere else.

Bar hopping is fabulous with multiple options available but planning is essential if one wants to make the best out of their night out in Bandra.

Pre-gaming Scenes

Start out your night with an early dinner at Khar Gymkhana {if you have the membership} for their excellent Chinese food and cheap drinks. Another great option is to hit up is PJs in Pali Hill for some lovely Goan grub and drinks at spectacular prices. Ensure you’re not dressed too casually as PJs has a strict no sandals and no shorts rule.

Reaching a tad bit early at these places is advisable as the tables tend to get occupied super soon.

For college students on a very tight budget, Janta Bar near Pali Naka is one of the cheapest and the best options to line up their stomachs for a night of crazy partying.

Meet The Gang

If some good music, resto-bar feels and cocktails are more your thing, then Bar Stock Exchange at Linking Road and Khar Social or Raasta at SV Road are some viable options. The fluctuating prices and yummy appetisers at BSE or the crazy LIITs and the fries at Khar Social ensure you’re good to go for the night.

Bar-Hopping

Next, head to Escobar at Linking Road for a fun night out with your girls or enjoy their rooftop area with your gang. This elegant rooftop lounge has some gorgeous drinks on offer like The Bluefrog (a take on the conventional LIIT), Twisted Chocolate Martini and Sangrias. The hipster music, an extensive Tapas menu and a lively crowd are the added ingredients to your night out.

A similar option like Escobar is Masala Bar at Carter Road which plays superb music on the weekends. For those who like it sweet, go for their Baileys Irish Cream lollipop and spot some models and celebrities while you’re at it. Do wear your best party outfits at these haunts as they’re a teeny bit particular about the dress code.

Another Bandra favourite, Bonobo is great for music lovers as their eclectic selection of music caters to many. Spot some celebrities while you’re sipping your drinks as Bonobo is a favourite with musicians across Bollywood and otherwise.

Head to Radio Bar if you’re in the mood for some crazy Bollywood dancing and not just on the weekends! Radio Bar has a Bollywood special on Thursdays which attracts people from all across Bombay. Though the drinks are a little pricey, a strong cocktail can keep you happy for an hour, ensuring you get your groove on.

Late Night Hunger Pangs

After dancing and drinking your night away, head to various popular options in Bandra for when the hunger pangs hit in. Grab a delicious paneer or a chicken tikka roll from two of the best late night eateries in Bandra – Sigdi in Bandra Talao, and Mini Punjab in Pali Hill.

If in the mood for a sit-down meal, head to Sheetal Bukhara in Khar for a sumptuous meal replete with butter chicken and butter naan to end your night on a scrumptious note.

Too tired to carry on? Absolutely no problem, sit at your or a friend’s home and order a roll or five from Sigdi which delivers till late. You can also order a large, thin crust pizza *drools* from Smokin’ Joe’s for a quick, drunk pizza fix.

If you are like a true Bandra girl and your party is not over before 6, fret not, my friend! Head to A1 Bakery on Hill Road for some delicious bakery food early in the morning, stuff yourself with yummy pies and patties and finally call it a night. Or morning.

So, party it up in Bandra this wekeend. Or the next or maybe all the weekends!
