Back in the '50s and '60s, when consuming alcohol was taboo, it was sold under the covers and shutters of shops. Once an illicit concept, speakeasies are now catching up with the cool trend and our city has followed suit, with Bandra Hideout, a new speakeasy travel bar on Pali road, Khar. We tell you what's awesome.

What Makes It Awesome

Bandra Hideout offers some signature drinks that are served in hip flasks and named after the aunties of Bandra and their colloquialism. Their quirky names blew our mind. With Aunt's Double Dose, Mary Aunty's Kettle, Whisky Samba, Gilbert Hill, and The Bandra Lady, get ready to be tully here.

There is a concept to the bar that promises to change every year. The hideout is focusing on the Aunty Bar concept that prevailed during the fifties in Bandra, where ladies used to serve prohibited alcohol from their house premises, and not in the open. They're making drinks with Indian alcohol brands, and whipping up spirited happiness for you. (Next year might just be about prohibited spirits from Europe, maybe!) You can also chomp on their garlic milano prawns, chicken satays, black pepper chicken, hob custard basa and more.

The interiors boast of what an old Dsouza residency would look like in the by-lanes of Bandra, with walls in yellow, white and black. There's a lot of symmetry you will get to see on their walls, and the brightness of colors adds warmth to the vibe. A threesome of food, service, and good old alcohol for company, Bandra Hideout will amaze you beyond expectations. And it's opening its doors for you today!
