What Makes It Awesome

Whether it's a festive occasion or just a casual day working from home (well, we're staying with the times!), Indian wear is something that is comfortable, easy-breezy and honestly, usually the first pick from the wardrobe.

Keeping that in mind, we love it when we see some creativity in terms of fabrics being used and the cuts that define a good piece of clothing. Enter Basic Design, a slow fashion and sustainable venture that believes in honing this sort of creativity and working closely with weavers from across the country. You'll get to rummage through comfortable, meditative clothing, keeping the fashion conscious wearers (like you and me!) in mind. Their cuts are a good blend of traditional and contemporary, so that we have plenty of options to choose from.

Their clothing ranges from kurtas, sets and lowers, tops, dresses, sarees, saree blouses and even accessories like dupattas, stoles, bags, jewellery, pocket squares for men and masks. They also have a 'Home' section where you can pick from a range of cushions and napkins.

While you check them out on their website, we're just letting you know that you'll find some stunners here, in terms of block prints, checks, shibori work and textured fabrics.

They're a little steep when it comes to pricing, so the range begins from INR 1,190 and can even go up to INR 10,000, but hey, this is what you get if you're opting for sustainable fashion and want to do your bit to contribute to saving the world.

Psst: They have a lovely collection of ethnic jewellery that will go so well when paired with ethnic clothing. Our favourite is their fish earrings for INR 3,490.
