Bayroute is one of the finest places I have ever been to . They ooze out panache. Fantastic in every aspect . This place is pure gold. The staff is so welcoming , caring and really good at suggestions to. They know exactly what every dish is and give some great suggestions. Recently they have even added some new dishes to their menu to . They serve Egyptian , Moroccan , Greek , Turkish and even Lebanese food . Their menu is quite flamboyant as well . It's kinda unique as all the dishes aren't on the right side , instead they're on the left side. The names are written starting from the right instead of the left . I guess that's cause they serve cuisine from a few Mediterranean countries like Egypt , Morocco etc . The pages were golden coloured and fabulous . Like yes , even their menu looks so damn good so you can only imagine how good their food is gonna be . The ambience , well , eye candy to look at . It's makes dining over here true bliss. Also a huge shoutout to the staff , I know I have mentioned them earlier but they really were spot on .
I tried the following:
Mocktails:
Reyhan:
A splendid affair of orange , basil and blossom water. The presentation was amazing . The addition of the orange peel with the word "bayroute" engraved on it was really unique . This drink was really refreshing and is a must try mocktail if you happen to be here .
Greek Goddess:
Creamy greek yoghurt blended with pitted wild berries and mint. This drink is on the cremier side . The flavours of the berries were clearly evident and blended well with the yoghurt . Enjoyed every sip of it .
Melting rose milk :
Milk with the flavour of rose . Topped with rose petals . This drink not only was eye candy to look at but even had a flavour that would certainly delight your tastebuds .
Laban
Laban is a cooling yoghurt drink that is sold in a variety of options such as sweet , salty , roasted curry leaf and mustard , avocado and cucumber , labneh and dukkah. I tried the roasted curry leaf and mustard variant and it was amazing . Refreshing and resembled a lassi in its consistency.
Hot mezze
Mezze is basically like a starter . The mezze I tried was dijaj chermoula . The chicken was really well cooked . Full of flavour . Six pieces of HEAVENLY chicken . When combined with the cacik dip , this dish simply gets augmented to a whole new level .
Cold mezze
Musabbaha: I have never eaten hummus this delicious in my entire life . Really well made and exceptionally tasty . Mildly spiced and perfect for the pita bread .
Mains :
Escalope Al Dijaj: well cooked and flavoursome chicken breasts , served with Greek rice and dressed with Rocca salata and saffron sauce . The chicken was cooked to perfection . Crisp. Juicy . Flavourful. The Greek rice too was amazing and the dressing of the Rocca salata and saffron sauce really blended in well with the rice and the chicken . Truly a match made in heaven .
Machboos Al kuzu
The lamb was cooked to perfection . This dish is a one way ticket to the Middle East . Loved the flavours . The fried onion simply elevated the flavour of this already impressive dish . Lamb lovers should definitely try this dish . Cooking lamb perfectly is a hard task something the folks over here nailed .
Dessert
Baklava : this is a dessert sent from the heavens above .The taste is magic . The whole scene wherein the server dips the rose in liquid nitrogen and then crushes it into pieces that land on your dessert is like the best thing ever . The rose brittles combined with the pastry that had Iranian pistachios , almonds and gulkand ice cream was just simply awe-inspiring.
Shukulata Al Habib:
This dish looked so fantastic. It had a plethora of elements each with their own taste. Somehow they didn't result in a disaster even though the possibility of that happening is very high especially when you have so many elements. You'll be awestruck when you see it trust me . It is like a piece of art.
All in all you only live once , don't miss out on bayroute .
