We (re)discovered a store in Bandra that’s genuinely the stuff of Modern Folklore. It’s got rack after rack filled with outfits that truly feel like they’re out of the ordinary. Think the poufiest skirts, the most bejewelled pairs of jeans, and leather jackets that have been studded to the high heavens. As you walk in, you’ll find more and more clothing items that are offbeat - think chainmail tops, sequinned ghagras with botanical embroidery, and even neon bodysuits with very specific designs and logos on them.
The store has a demarcation of products, and the staff will let you know what’s for sale, and what isn’t. Most of their business is in the space of shoots. Well, that makes sense, TBH. Unless you were headed to a costume party, most of these clothes would make for impractical, or rather very occasional additions to your wardrobe. All said and done, though, if you love unique clothing, appreciate workmanship and want to curate a wardrobe that reflects your flamboyant personal style, Beg Borrow Steal is THE place to be!
A section of the store also houses beautiful home decor artifacts. We spotted monkey figurines in wood and metal, several botanical-inspired motifs, and wood beads that have been drawing a lot of attention on Instagram and Pinterest. We’re sure set designers and stylists absolutely love this store… But there’s no gatekeeping this #HiddenGem, anymore!
