Mumbai’s famous nightlife goes well with the city bars that have been cropping up or have been on the scene for a while. If you’re looking to hit the town soon or have friends and family visiting the city, here’s a handy guide to the most popular and the bars in the city.
Get Your Gang & Plan A Pub Crawl At These Amazing Bars In Mumbai
Toto's Garage, Bandra
A Bandra favourite and an evergreen bar in Mumbai, this bar on Pali Hill is the one to hit up post-work or just to get a pint or two— there are really two cars inside, one of which serves as the DJ’s booth. Toto’s Garage will mostly be overcrowded in the evenings, especially on the weekends, so we highly suggest you go there as early as possible to get a table. With retro music and staff dressed in overalls, they have got the vibe right for anyone who wants a typical bar experience. The pub is grungy, has car number plates hung on the walls, and hasn’t changed a bit in over two decades, which is what we love.
Doolally Taproom, Multiple Outlets
This list would not have been complete had we not included our all-time favourite, Doolally’s Taproom. It is one of the few pet-friendly pubs and bars in Mumbai (you'll always see a doggo or a feline friend chilling). Their handcrafted ciders are to die for. If you haven’t had a great apple cider or mango cider (the latter being seasonal), you know where to get it. They also have board games and books to read. It's holiday time, and you can even enjoy their Christmas special brunch at any of the two outlets.
Eddies Bistro, Bandra
A cosy indoor and outdoor place in Bandra, Eddies Bistro has great ambience and is possibly one of the more popular bars in the city. If you head here, you ought to try their mini burgers and desserts, especially Tres Leche, a pistachio sponge dessert. Heads up, weekends are really busy, so make sure you reserve a table in advance or head there early lest you want to be disappointed. They have great offers on alcohol, so make the most of them.
SOCIAL, Multiple Outlets
The Social outlets across the city definitely rank high as being the best bars in Mumbai. Social outlets are great for a night out with amazing LIITs, a heavy breakfast, and the ability to double as a co-working space during the day. And if you haven’t been to Khar Social yet, be sure to head to their basement, aka antiSocial, for some of the best gigs in the city.
Olive Bar & Kitchen, Khar
Olive Bar, an upscale bar frequented by celebrities, is the place to go when you want to feel fancy. With its white and blue decor and an envious location near Carter Road, Olive is great for when you want to do something warm and cosy. Got a date night coming up? Get your best clothes out and book a table at Olive Bar.
The Daily Bar & Kitchen, Bandra
Daily, as it’s popularly known, has an indoor and an outdoor place and is perfect for a group outing. The outdoor area is adorned with fairy lights and really comes alive during the evenings. If you’re looking to go out dancing, this is where you need to head. On most weekends, once you’re done partying in other cafes, almost everyone heads to Daily.
The Irish House, Multiple Outlets
The Irish House has multiple outlets across the city and is a great place to go if you’re hunting for diverse beers, including the imported ones. The Irish House has good food, so you won't be disappointed if you get hungry, and music that harkens back to YMCA, your basic Friday nights. They also organise live match screenings.
