Bubble Tea’s really caught on in the last few years! Gone are the days when you’d have to make a trip abroad for your fill of Milk Boba. Here’s where to head to when you want a sweet caffeine rush with the textural interest that proper boba pearls offer. Read on!

The Boba Place

We feel like Oshiwara’s a bit of an underrated, spread out Khau Galli, with so many restaurants and streetside vendors in the vicinity. This spot is open till 3 AM, so if you can deal with caffeine even before bedtime, this is a must visit when you’re in the middle of a weekend gedi with the homies. Their specialities include a Mexican-Style Horchata Boba with a lovely kick of cinnamon, and we love their Matcha Berry Boba.

The Boba Club

We tried their Lotus Biscoff Milkshake with Boba, and we’d say it’s on par with any boba tea we’ve tried abroad. We suggest trying the Thai Green Tea and Thai Rose Tea, as it seems like those are their specialties. Feeling experimental? Definitely go for their Cream Cheese with Torched Brown Sugar variants — specifically in the Matcha Flavour!

Easy Boba

Spending the weekend in Bandra? Make a trip to Easy Boba. This one’s always crowded, and they have really cute packaging. Be prepared to queue up… But we promise it’s worth the wait. The Belgian Chocolate Boba with Chocolate-Flavoured Pearls seems to be a specialty! The Jasmine Classic Boba is another favourite amongst regulars.

Cha

This spot in Lower Parel has well-made light Asian snacks, like Turnip Cakes, dim sum, and a well-loved Prawn Cheung Fun. Their Boba Teas are well made, and go wonderfully with the small eats. The flavoured bubble teas are priced at INR 200, and the flavours are rotational, so ask your server about what’s available on the day. This one’s inside Palladium, and is a great pit stop while you’re shopping

Doesn’t Kandivali always bring it with early adoption of food trends? This spot has a pretty large menu, and have made sure they updated their taste profile to suit Mumbai’s discerning boba enthusiasts. They’ve even got Milk Cakes that are sinfully soft and delicious on their menu. Go for the Brown Sugar Thai Tea!

Another spot in Lower Parel that has truly aced boba, Barako has a ton of experimental flavours that people seem to love! We hear that the Salted Stardust Bubble Tea is absolutely delicious, and so is the authentic Hokkaido Milk Tea. The Peachylicious Bubble Tea also comes highly recommended. Don’t order in, but head here and pick up your boba tea. They’ve also got a few snack options, if you opt to snack on something with your bubble tea.

Bubble Tea Badabing Badaboom

This one’s in a mall, too, and is a nice spot to grab boba when you’re tucking in at the food court. We hear that the Nutella Boba Tea, the Berry Boba Green Tea and the Life’s A Peach, with its peach pearls are all crowd favourites. The names of the drinks are super creative — Clockwork Mango, Coffee Person and Sting Like A Jelly made us want to order multiples!
