Looking to break your fast or simply enjoy the Ramzan specials around Mumbai? Head to Mohammed Ali Road, Bohri Mohalla, or even Yari Road, Kurla, or Jogeshwari to dig into items you won’t otherwise easily find. But if you're confused with so many great options, here’s a list of places where you should go for an Iftar fix in Mumbai.

Firoz Farsan

Tucked in Bohri Mohalla, Firoz Farsan is a small farsan shop dishing out its family recipe of Patrel Biryani. The shop adds the patra to buff meat and serves this no-rice biryani. You can grab a small portion or pack it by the kilo to take home too.

Haji Tikka Corner

Another spot in Bohri Mohalla, Haji Tikka Corner is busy serving baida roti, kebabs, chicken rolls, and more. The shop is one of the most popular ones in the neighbourhood, and offers quite a large variety of items. Dig into their Boti Kebab, Chicken Achari Kebab, and Baida Roti

Timings: 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM

Rating: 4.3/5

Jilani Fast Food Corner

Walk down from JJ Junction and you’ll spot Jilani, a shop that’s almost always busy during iftar. If there’s one place to grab Naan Chaap (also known as chicken naan sandwich), then this is where you must try one. Jilani’s Kasturi Chicken Sandwich is the most popular naan chaap here and is generously flavoured with kasuri methi. Another must-try here is their Mutton Roll and Baida Roti.

Price: INR 100 onwards

Timings: 1:30 PM to 12 AM

Rating: 3.9/5

Seekh Paratha Inn

Yari Road is another neighbourhood that’s buzzing during the month of Ramzan. Hop around the food stalls here, but make sure you stop at Seekh Paratha Inn. The obvious favourite here is the seekh kebab served with a fried paratha and some onion and chutney. We recommend the Mutton Seekh Kebab here, although the Chicken Seekh is quite juicy too.

Price: INR 160 onwards

Timings: 11 AM to 1:30 AM

Rating: 4/5

Janata Tawa & Grill

Make a trip to Kurla and enjoy your Iftar around this neighbourhood. You are going to love the vibes here around this time. We recommend making a stop at Janata Tawa & Grill for their Chicken or Mutton Rolls, Chicken Tikka Burra, and Mutton Lajawab, both of which you can enjoy with hot rotis.

Price: INR  250 onwards

Timings: 12 PM to 4 AM

Rating: 4.2/5

Yari Zaikaa

Another spot on Yari Road, located next to the Versova D-Mart, Yari Zaikaa is a small restaurant that otherwise serves up great meals but also offers a few special items during the month of Ramzan. Head here for the Buff Pav, which has tawa-fried buff stuffed in pav. You can also order their kebabs and gravies for a complete meaty experience.

Head to any part of the city during Ramzan, and you’ll find a JJ Jalebi stall there. While the original is at JJ Junction, you can also check out its franchise stalls in Kurla, on Yari Road, and in Jogeshwari. Get the mawa jalebi here, a richer jalebi if we may say so, this jalebi is a mix between jalebi and Gulab jamun and is a must-have!

Mumbai’s only sancha icecream, this shop has been serving creamy scoops since 1887. Located in Bohri Mohalla, Taj ice cream has got a facelift in recent times and is now an air-conditioned ice cream parlour. Get their oldest flavour, Mix Fruit, or a seasonal scoop of Alphonso Mango.

Shabir’s Tawakkal Sweets

With several stalls around Mohammed Ali Road and Bohri Mohalla, find any that’s the nearest to you and satiate your sweet tooth. Known for their phirni — regular, kesar, and mango — Tawakkal Sweets has one of the best phirnis in the city. However, their Mango Malai, which tastes like mango rabdi, steals the show. You can also pack some malpuas to take home.

Located within the NCPA, Waarsa promises an Awadhi touch to an Iftar meal. You can begin your Iftar meal with complimentary sharbat and dates, which is an excellent tribute to Ramadan's spirit. All that is served here, from the comforting Dahi aur Naspati ka Shorba to the melt-in-your-mouth Gilawat ka Kabab, is all about legacy and deep flavours. And if you're a vegetarian, you can try the mouth-watering Kathal ki Nihari.
