What Makes It Awesome?

Goa in Mumbai doesn't get confused, talking about the restaurant. Goa Portuguesa restaurant in between Matunga and Mahim busy street. The owner of the restaurant is so welcoming, attends every customer personally to know the review of their food. If the review was not great then he suggests changing the dish.

They raise the bar of Maharashtra and Goan culture. From the interior to the service and the food was amazing. The most amazing thing, a doctor runs the restaurant with the chef wife.

Let's take the ride to their food.
Soup:
-Veg Colada Soup:- We always think why generally soups are filling. But believe me, the soup was so light and soothing. If we want to know about the ingredient in the soup then it is present in the menu card. Cooked with potato puree and spinach and milk and you can get a slight taste of garlic.

Starters:
-Prawns Rissois:- Simple dish with amazing fillings. Stuffing of prawns and cheese. Must try. Highly recommended. Five thumbs up.
-Spice Rubbed Rawas:- Since it is goa and Portuguesa my expectation for food is raised slightly. And yes they didn't disappoint with the dish. Shallow fry fish soft and juicy and fresh. Love the fish.
-Stuffed Crab:- About the crabs, we thought we have to do lots of hard work to eat those, but surprisingly we have to eat like the way we eat our icecreams. Yes, it's stuffed crab the meat of the crab was cooked in their in-house spices and a little bit of cheese on it. We need to use a spoon. Love this dish.

Mains:
-Mutton Vindalho:- Mutton was soft and fresh and the spices were so amazing. You will get the taste of little bit sour taste. But you will definitely enjoy the mutton.
-Chicken Xacutti:- It's coconut based brown gravy, the important thing is that they use their in-house spices. So you will not get the taste of garam masala. And because of coconut, it increases the taste. So love the chicken.
-Prawn Goan Curry:- Again it is coconut based so don't worry about the taste, the taste is different. Love for seafood.

With the main course, they serve Amboli, Rotis, Pao and Steamed Goan Rice. They accompanied really well and completed our main course.

Every dish from starters to the main course having different taste. Nothing repeatedly tastes even with mutton and chicken both the dish tasted differently. Hats off to the chef.

Then we ordered our Desserts,
-Serradura:- After having so much we still left someplace to eat the desserts. But the desserts are not heavy. Serradura is not that sweet nor heavy half of it is wiped cream with dry fruits and based having bread getting melted so soon you will not get to know you have eaten the bread.
-Bebinca & Dodol:- Bebinca is always the boss, loves the taste of it and dodol is chocolaty love the chocolate taste in it.
Both the dessert are not heavy and not that sweet.

Goa and Portuguesa completed their 30 years. Congratulations and thank you for serving such tasty food and satisfying our taste buds.
