Some days, all we want is to escape from the daily hustle of city life and head to a quaint town to unwind. Alibaug has been one of the most sought after getaways from Mumbai, thanks to the ease with which we can get to this place. If you're looking for a quick getaway to the little island, and are wondering what the food scene looks like, here are the best cafes and restaurants to check out in Alibaug.

Vaibhav Restaurant

Head to Vaibhav Restaurant for good local food, snacks and thalis. This humble spot close to Kihim Beach is great for uttappam, batata vadas and amazing, spicy misal pav. Head here for a frill-free, quick dining experience.

Sanman Restaurant

Set up in 1981, Sanman is possibly one of the most iconic spots in Alibaug for excellent Konkani food. The thalis here are a must-try, and are named after the meats the thali features—like the Fish Special, Chicken Special and so on. The special spices that go into the dishes are also made in-house. The Rawa-fried Surmai, Prawn Curry and Solkadi are must-try dishes.

Patil Khanaval

Don't be fooled by the basic setup at Patil Khanaval. This beach side spot serves excellent home-style Konkani, Maharashtrian and Malvani food along with North Indian delicacies. The seafood is legendary here, so make sure you visit when you're hungry.

This seaside spot reminds us of Thalassa in Goa, and other pretty boho-chic spaces. Head here in time for the sunset to enjoy some mock-tails and sizzlers with a stunning view to behold.

Aparanta

Aparanta at Radisson Blu is a great spot to head to, especially if you're looking to have a late dinner with drinks. They're also well-rated for their Sunday Buffet lunches, so head here when you're in the mood to demolish a big feast.
