When I heard that Taste of Punjab has opened in Mumbai I was simply counting days to visit this restaurant about which I had heard so many praises.
Yes, I wore my best Punjabi dress here as I wanted to soak in the environment & match its enigmatic aura. I had a mile long smile on my face as soon as I entered the restaurant which exceeded my expectations in all respect.
Every inch of this vibrantly colourful, loud, cheerful, royal, opulent & magical place gives you a feel of Punjab. A lot of bling is used in the decor which makes you feel like you have entered a Punjabi wedding.
Applause for the interior decorator of Taste of Punjab as you have done a marvellous job since I have not seen such a lively atmosphere in any restaurant in Mumbai.
You are in for a lot of fun surprises as there is a live Bhangra performance every 2 hours which is so crowd pulling & energetic that you will be forced to leave your seats & join in with the rest of the crowd.
Also, there are live Punjabi songs sung by ladies which is melodious & soul soothing. To add to the fun Mehendi artists apply henna on the hands for the ladies which is simply unbelievable as it feels like a Punjabi wedding function.
The food is exceptional to another level. When I started eating the paani puri here I just couldn't stop till the guest reminded me that there are many other dishes too.
The water was spicy & chilled and was served with super crisp puris along with the filling.Full marks to that.
The starters were served hot & fresh on the table consisting of tandoori mushrooms, paneer, cheese tikkas & achari aloo. A tall glass of chaas was served which was super refreshing.
I proceeded towards the buffet section & have to mention - Each & every item was par excellence and beyond words!
I was left speechless at the level of perfection in the authentic taste aroma, fragrance & overall appearance of every single dish. The saag, kadi pakoras, chole, dal makhani were rich and wholesome & bursting with flavours.
They have mini statues depicting the rural life of Punjab strategically placed below the buffet counter which is eye-catching like a mini museum.
A well-stocked bar for those who want to enjoy their drinks which their food.
I didn't have space in my tummy post the heavy lunch but still gave the dessert section a shot as it was so inviting & tempting. The warm masala milk served in earthen glasses was generously loaded with dry fruits. The phirni with milk kevda essence was simply out of the world.
There was gulab jamun, rabri & jalebi too which I enjoyed to my heart's content.
The rates of this restaurant are unbelievably economic & pocket-friendly which will leave you shocked as its simply unrealistic!
Ideal for kittie parties, corporate parties, pre-wedding function etc.
This place is a must visit!
