Ten-Second Takeaway

Books By Weight is back with their one-of-a-kind book sale which will have a wide variety of secondhand books selling by the kilo.

How Does It Work?

Books by Weight are currently hosting a book sale at Sunderbai Hall at Churchgate.

The concept is simple – gather your favourites, and instead of paying for each individual book, pay by their weight. One kilo worth of reading material will set us back by INR 100 upwards {depending on the type of book you choose}. Book-lovers can also buy lesser amounts, with the least being 200 grams worth of books. The rates are INR 50 a kilo for Reader’s Digest condensed novels, INR 100 a kilo for fiction, INR 200 a kilo for children’s books & children’s fiction and INR 300 a kilo for literature & popular fiction.

Over 50,000 books will be up for grabs, and while there are bound to be more misses than hits, we’ve chanced upon many classics and hardbound collections in mint condition here, so keep your eyes open.

So, We're Saying...

If you’ve ever wanted to shop for books like you would for vegetables, this is your chance. Also, don’t forget to bring a few empty backpacks, and arrange for a cab ride home. Lugging all those books back home won’t be fun on the train. And be wary of long queues, we suggest wearing your patient hat.
