With the lockdown effectively ruining gigs for both Saturday nights and Sunday brunches, we need music to navigate through life more than ever. Evolving with these tough times, Brooke Bond Taj Mahal has turned this lockdown limitation into a unique opportunity for classical music enthusiasts and talented artists to enjoy music from home! Every Sunday, expect their Facebook page to turn into the perfect setting for classic Indian music virtual baithaks called ‘Wah! Taj Baithak @ Home’. The next edition is happening Sunday morning on April 26, starting at 10am.
These harmonious live sessions provide great breathers for these stressful times, not only for the audience who have a penchant for classical music, but also for young, skillful artists who are getting a brilliant platform to showcase their talent.
19 vocalists and instrumentalists who have trained and performed with maestros like Pt. Birju Maharaj ji, Smt. Sitara Devi Ji, Ustad Asad Khan and Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee have already been a part of these live virtual baithaks and have performed some of the most iconic ragas like Ahir Bhairav, Nat Bhairav, Miya Ki Todi and Bahar among others. So, music lovers, you’re in for a treat with the #WahTajBaithakAtHome.
