A music-lover faces many dangers while dining out. An innocent meal can be hijacked by a painful song, a souffle stabbed to death by staccato sounds, or worse, a conversation drowned by dance beats that are completely uncalled for.

Here's a list of the city's cafes and restaurants we’re loving for their music selections. So put those headphones away and read on!

Classic Rock

Any outlet of Pop Tate's

Pop Tate's is always abuzz with classic rock anthems, even if it's the same ones again and again. LOL. We've hummed along to Sweet Home Alabama, Some On The Water and more on our trips here.

While bopping to the Lynyrd Skynrd, make sure you order the Paneer Tikka Pizza (INR 299) and any of the iconic AF sizzlers!

Hard Rock Cafe

Another obvious addition, while HRC doesn't just play Classic Rock, most of the music is classic rock fodder. Interspersed with healthy doses of 80s pop, the musical snob in you will happily let loose. AND do the YMCA once you're tipsy enough.

In the middle of your frantic and ill-co-ordinated dancing, make sure you try the Original Hard Rock Onion Rings (INR 380), and the Hickory-Smoked Bar-B-Que combo (INR 1220).

Jazz

Jazz & Blues, Andheri Lokhandwala

We're just glad this place exists! This one's a new joinee to the food scene, and we're really happy to report that the music here is always conducive to conversation, inherently romantic and obviously, meant for the jazz snobs/novices.

While nodding in agreement to your date, tuck into the J&B Special Pasta (INR 299) and the Cheesy Chicken Bombs (INR 199)

Veranda, Pali Hill

A swanky space that's also date-night friendly, Veranda always has performances lined up, and more often than not, it's jazz that gets featured! Jazz musicians from all over the world have performed at this Bandra space, and even though you'll have to check who's performing on the day, we think you should head here for the ambient music, either way.

While humblebragging about your musical prowess, tuck into the Sabz Gaudy (INR 385), the Bentota Curry (INR 440) and the Jalepeach (INR 300)

Acoustic Bollywood

Tanatan

OF COURSE Tanatan's on this list! With daily performances of soulful Bollywood covers that you can hum along to, it's perfect for a parents-meeting-parents dinner, or a birthday. It's delish food, a dimly (AKA flatteringly) lit ambience, and music we all know and love.

While you exchange niceties (or compliments for your date), order the Madras Curry Fondue With Paneer Satay (INR 408) and the Neer Dosa with Mushroom, Green Peas Gassi (INR 545)
