Baby Got {Paper}back

Popular Secondhand bookstore has been in Malad West for the past two years. It’s easily hidden by a repair shop that runs right next to it located at the corner not too far away from Jimis Burger. We entered this tiny space to find rows and rows of neatly stacked books and novels. This bookstore also doubles up as library with 70% of the money being refundable. You buy a book worth INR 100, and INR 70 will be returned to you when you take it back to the bookshop. The books were starting INR 20, INR 40 and some even went to INR 300. But mostly, this a great bargain shop which has low prices to begin with.

What We Love

The diverse collection of books that were curated by the owner. From Archer to Dan Brown to Sidney Sheldon – these thrillers took up almost one whole rack. As we moved around towards the back of this shop, we saw Amitav Gosh, S Hussian Zaidi, Valmiki’s Penguin edition of ‘Ramayana’, apart from the more popular genres of EL James, Mills & Boons. Proudly standing on one of the racks was Hitler’s much banned and controversial Mein Kemph and even the recently released Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Twinkle Khanna’s ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad‘ for INR 100. We also came across a precious withered old edition of Ruskin Bond’s ‘Time Stops At Shamli‘.

So, We're Saying...

You can never have ‘too many books’ especially when the Christmas season is on. So be the Secret Santa that you are, and pop in there to hoard up more books for your home library.
