What Makes It Awesome

This is the 2nd year that I've been sculpting ganpati idols. Last year I had to shell out 6k-7k for 60 kgs of clay that kept cracking. A years worth of research took me to Kalabhai who sells shaadu mitti at 300 rupees for a sack of 35 kilograms. Quite a steal!

What Could Be Better?

Their day starts at 10 am and they shut shop by 6 pm so drop by in time. Considering the effort it takes to knead the clay it'd be great if they sold clay that was already kneaded.

What's My Pro Tip?

There are many other shops that sell shaadu mitti but this knowledge is esoteric and you'll have to tap into the right circles to get a lead. I went around asking ganpati sculptors for a lead. There is one famous seller In Sewri, not far from P. Thakre Udyan Bus Terminus.

Anything Else?

Kalabhai sells shaadu mitti in a fine powder form come prepared to have the powder fly all over your hands and car.
