Ten-Second Takeaway

Fans can rejoice because the Coldplay concert in Mumbai will happen as scheduled on November 19, and the tickets will be free for everyone.

What’s The Buzz?

Over the last 24 hours, a lot has been written and spoken about the upcoming Coldplay gig in Mumbai on November 19. The brouhaha over the ticket prices starting at INR 25,000 {as reported by Mid-Day} was enough for even the non-Coldplay fans to take note. But now, it’s finally safe to say that the concert will indeed happen on the said date, except that it will be free for all.

Yes! You read that right. The official Global Citizen website put out an announcement stating that the concert will be the first Global Citizen festival in India, and is being held on World Toilet Day {November 19}, and will also have a line-up of popular international and Indian headliners. The tickets for the Indian festival will be free, but fans can only get these by taking actions in support of education, equality, and sanitation campaigns.

September 12 onwards, fans can sign up to become Global Citizens, complete the festival’s action campaigns on GlobalCitizen.IN and get the tickets for the concert.

So We’re Thinking…

With the baseless rumours being finally put to rest, all of us fans can now find solace that we will get to watch Coldplay live in action and the only expenditure it will involve will be doing something for those who truly need the help. This is what we call charity and fun rolled in one.
