What Makes It Awesome

Let me be honest. I have never yearned for the mountains the way I have in the last few months. There is and always has been some indefinable quality about the Himalayas. And that goes beyond its natural beauty, to encompass the unique lifestyle and individual cultural identities that the region has as well. And anyone who has travelled to those beautiful parts will understand exactly what I'm talking about.

So imagine my delight at coming across Mapcha Studio. A brand that's uniquely inspired by the Himalayas and Himalayan culture. A studio that celebrates the diverse cultures that make up the region, Mapcha operates out of Majnu ka Tila in New Delhi and creates products that weave together both tradition and contemporary aesthetics to create something just that little bit different. When we think of the brand, the immediate word that comes to mind is 'minimal'. Taking inspiration from ethnic designs, they are all about crafting pieces that will thrive in the modern space be it work or leisure. I was especially taken by their Upalla for Mapcha, which is their clothing range. I can absolutely see myself wearing these beautiful pieces, too - like the Lhasa Classic Chuba Dress or their Thimphu Kira Wrap Dress. While I was personally drawn to their women's collection which is quite versatile - tops, dresses, jackets, shirts, and pants, they also have a limited selection of men's wear. Plus, if you love jewellery they have a carefully curated collection of that too.

Prices vary, and we spotted dresses from INR 3,150, skirts from INR 3,350, and tops from INR 1,750. Don't expect a vast choice here, but what they do have available is carefully designed and crafted with care.
