Vanakkam cafe is located near NL College in Malad West. Chef Rahul Desai has created the menu of the cafe. They serve pure authentic south Indian dishes from all different cities like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Bangalore, etc. They serve 4 types of chutney i.e.coconut, peanut, pineapple, and tomato with every meal. My favourite is tomato chutney. Staff attire South Indian clothes, that gives you more of South Indian vibes. They have an outdoor sitting arrangement. I tried there, Filter Kaapi: South famous filter kaapi was served in a brass cup. They have a huge filter coffee machine. Lemon rice dosa: This dish is famous and origin from Bangalore. Plain dosa filled with lemon rice. This rice had strong taste and flavor of lemon and curry leaves. Devangere benne dosa: Must try and highly recommended. This dish is the origin of Karnataka. Thick and soft dosa topped with butter and podi Masala. Ghee Podi Mini Idli: Tamil Nadu's famous mini idli tossed in podi Masala. Then clarified butter was poured on it. It was garnished with freshly grated coconut. Lava idli: Soft idli cups filled with sambar. While Breaking this idli cups, the sambar comes out. Must order this to try something unique. Regular thali: This was a huge thali. A person could not finish this. They do not allow to share this thali with anyone. This thali costs you Rs. 280 +GST. Thali contains 2 chapati, Rice, Sambar, Rasam, 3 vegetables curry, Kulambu, pappu dal, Vada, Appalam, Ghee, Podi Masala, pickle, papadam and dessert.
