What Is It?
Who Is It For?
For the people who aced their treasure hunting games at the birthday parties, and could sniff up a clue while watching CID, this one is for you.
Kalpana Swaminathan is a detective novelist who created her a Mumbai-based detective Lalli, who’s a homicide detective out there solving crimes through a six part series. The workshop will be led by her, and what content makes to pen these series down.
Why Should I Go?
It’s an informative workshop to attend if you’re a fan of this genre, and Sherlock Holmes has been your peak detective series. There’s plots, sub-plots and shady characters to explore, and hidden secrets that get unraveled.
At the workshop, Kalpana will take on matters that explore how a detective story works, how to use murder as a ‘literary device’, or even how to write one, and of course, learn from Kalpana herself. You’ll get to write a story on your own as a part of the assignment and get constructive feedback.
The workshop starts at 11 am, and costs INR 1,000.
Anything Else?
It’s a great way of exploring this genre and get insights by a detective novelist herself. This workshop will also introduce you to other people who’re interested and may even get great recommendations of novels and books from this genre. Or even better engage in an in-depth conversation about that one time Holmes totally blindsided Watson {you know you want to}.
