Sophia College’s English Dramatics Association is organising their play, Dead Poet’s Society at the Prithvi Theatre on July 4 and July 5 and it’s their take on iconic film. The play will be staged under Thespo@ Prithvi Theatre.
Go Watch The Dead Poet's Society On Stage With An All Female Cast At The Prithvi Theatre
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
If Robin William’s Carpe Diem has been your life motto and you sob like a baby every time you watch the movie, then we suggest you book your tickets now.
The play, Dead Poet’s Society by the Sophia’s girls has been directed by Vahishtai Ghosh who tells us the play has been adapted to different situations and different characters but takes on from the same premise. And rightly so as we see the play is set at Welbury Academy, an all-girls school down South. The play then chronicles the issues and the plots faced by the girls at the boarding school and its draconian rules.
The famous characters like Todd Anderson, Neil Perry or even Charlie Dalton get their own desi names and their own characteristics and quirks.
Why Should I Go?
We’re quite liking the idea of an-female cast taking cue from the film, and making it their own within the Indian context. You should go to check out these talented girls at work and Carpe Diem-ing on their own.
