An easy trek, a killer view, and a beautiful waterfall to boot - Do we really need to tell you you've got to see Devkund?
A classic example of a "plunge" waterfall, Devkund is breathtaking during the monsoons, even though the otherwise easy trek becomes exponentially tougher. The trek takes about 3 hours.
You'll get a chance to enjoy the pristine pool below the waterfall, views of Tamhini Ghat, and if you're a nature enthusiast you'll love the opportunity to explore the natural trails. Do keep an eye out for the native flora and fauna while on the trail.
The one-day trip kicks off the night before the actual trek, which is when you've got to assemble with the group at Chitra Cinema in Dadar, at 11 PM on September 28. Conducted by Bhatkani Maharashtrachi, you depart on Saturday night by bus, reach Bhira next morning at 5 AM, have an introductory session and breakfast, start your trek at 6:30 AM, reach the waterfall around 9:30 AM, start the trek back by 12 PM, reach Bhira by 2 PM and start your return journey back to to the city.
The price is INR 1,300 per person, and includes Mumbai to Mumbai transport, breakfast, lunch forest entry charges and expertise charges.
