It's small surprise that some of the most affected by the pandemic are children, and more so, children from underprivileged communities. That's why we were so excited to come across this wonderful initiative by Toybank -The Opentree Foundation.
A wonderful resource built through engaging with teachers, parents and support groups, this at-home digital kit is called the #ToybankPlayAtHomeKit and is aimed at vulnerable children whose mental health may be affected by the pandemic. A lack of routine can poorly affect mental health, and it's with this in mind that the kit has been organised to ensure that children continue to have routine-like normalcy. It also helps them stay meaningfully engaged and mentally stimulated during the crisis.
The #ToybankPlayAtHome Kits are packed with DIY games, activities on good and bad habits, maths and words puzzles and more! It's all about learning through the power of Play and providing a safe space for kids to learn and grow. With the aim to keep kids stress-free, happy and mentally engaged, they've put together these awesome digital kits that you can access on Facebook Events. They regularly post activities that you can easily recreate at home with just a pen and paper if needed.
