What Makes It Awesome

We know that you've relished different pizzas before but have you given the Neapolitan ones a try yet? Well if you aren't well versed with this funda, let us decode it for you first. If you ever visit Naples, the third-largest city in Italy, you'll see the folks there gobbling up pizzas that are topped with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil leaves and olive oil. What makes a Neapolitan pizza special, however, is it's slightly burnt/charred dough base, and the way in which it is eaten. Now we aren't aware of any other branch that does these pizzas as good as Emma's Pizza Kitchen in Vashi, and here's why we'd strongly recommend this cute pizza haven.

When we stumbled upon Emma's, a vegetarian and Jain pizza kitchen, we did not really know what we were signing up for, but with every bite of their Supreme Neapolitan pizza, our taste-buds were in awe. Harsh Udani, the owner and head chef of Emma's, told us how his experimentations at home with this style of pizza-making eventually grew into a passion project, with this joint as the beautiful outcome. The place has an open-air seating arrangement, and an indoor one as well. And the best part is that Emma's has an open kitchen too, so you can literally peep in to see how your food is made. We started the feast with their special garlic parmesan fries that come with a garlic sauce dip. Super crispy, with the right amount of cheese on top - these fries make for a great binge. To quench our thirst, we called for a Berry Cooler - a super soothing drink with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries.

We then dove right in to the pizzas, and stuffed ourselves with three of their house specialities - A Supreme, an Olive You So Mush, and a Marinara. We were told that we've got to fold the slice of the pizza from the upper part, for the best experience. No kidding but this really enhanced the taste of these pizzas. The dough of Neapolitan pizzas is fermented for 48 hours, which also makes them super light. And thumbs up to this process because even after gobbling down three pizzas and other munchies, we didn't feel the need to consume an Eno. The base is slightly charred to give a smoky flavour to each pizza. You may need to develop a taste for it, but it eventually grows on you with every bite. If you're a mushroom fan, go for the Supreme or the Olive You So Mush. These come with the goodness of olives, mushrooms, pepper, garlic oil, some inhouse sauces, and a fior di latte- a special soft Italian cheese. The first one also has onions, jalapenos, and sweet corn.

We know this read was probably a drool-fest for you, but wait because there's more. If after eating the gobsmacking pizzas, your appetite still allows you to chomp on more, then you can also go for their chilly cheese bread. It is made in the same Neapolitan dough base and comes with a garlic sauce dip. Again, finger-licking good! So if you're tempted already, make your way to Emma's Pizza Kitchen in Vashi and allow Harsh to serve you his delicacies. Write to us in the comment and tell us what you loved eating the most here!
