From movies and books to podcasts, and everything in between, we love dark comedy and can’t get enough of it. If you enjoy the genre just as much as we do, you’ll be excited to know that the gripping play written by the multi-award-winning playwright Sir Tom Stoppard, ‘Every Good Boy Deserves Favour’ being produced by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra of India!
What happens when one is put into an asylum for their dissenting political views and is made to share a room with a schizophrenic man, who believes himself to be surrounded by an orchestra? You get a conundrum that, although is fun, will make you question the very basics of Freedom of Speech, and what it actually means to you. If you’re a fan of George Orwell’s eerie, dystopian worlds, then this satirical play will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was first performed in 1977 at Queen Elizabeth’s Silver Jubilee at the Royal Festival Hall in London (talk about being grand!). The talented cast includes Neil Bhoopalam (whom you might know from Four More Shots Please!, Masaba Masaba, Lust Stories, and more), Denzil Smith (known for Delhi Crime), Sohrab Ardeshir, Deepika Deshpande Amin, Mihaail Karachiwala, and the Symphony Orchestra of India itself!
