With the modern interiors, the beautiful ambience and the jazz playing in the background, this place is an experience altogether! The menu at Taftoon is one of the best I’ve seen as it is very well detailed and provides information of the place of origin of each dish.
Once we were seated, we were served the Kashmiri Kahwa which was a mix of Indian Spices, sweetened with Kashmiri White Honey and topped with sliced almonds, served to us in clay cups! What a beginning!
Beginning the meal, the cocktails that we ordered are: Date and Pineapple Sherbet, Egypt Hibiscus and Cranberry Iced Tea and Citrus Rosemary Sour
The starters that we ordered are: Mooli Ki Kachori, Methi Moringa ka Jheenga, Kandhari Koobideh, Chak Misari da Kukkad and Kurkuri Kand which were all so good.
Here we were served the Kachi Kairi Palate Cleanser to cleanse our taste buds for the next course.
Going ahead with the main course we ordered: Kathal Ki Chapli, Dom Potoler Dolma, Macher Kaliya and Gosht Mutanjan for the gravies along with some breads- Lal Naan, Zafrani Taftoon and Baquerkhani (each having a speciality of their own) and ended with the Mutton Biryani!
All this ended on a sweet note with Baked Jaggery Rosogolla and Hazel Gosh Feel.
The entire experience was a memorable one down the Grand Trunk Road at Taftoon!
