Over 52K years old, Lonar Lake is a geological mystery that's yet to be solved. This lake believed to be formed by a meteor strike on basalt rock and is the only one of its kind on earth. Another fascinating feature of the lake is that the lake's waters are both saline and alkaline. Located in the Deccan Plateau, it's also home to several unique species of life forms that live in its depths.
This 3-day trip takes you from Mumbai to Lonar and back and all transport is organised to and from the place. You will board the Jan Shatabdi Express at Dadar and get down at Aurangabad. The next day, you'll have a guided trip of the crater and explore the area surrounding it as well. After the day out, you'll head back to the hotel and board the same train again back to Mumbai the next morning.
The trip is all inclusive of transport, guided trip, and meals too. The train is via second class seater. We suggest you pack comfortable clothes and footwear for the visit to the crater as you will be required to walk.
