Ganbhirgad Fort Monsoon Trek

What's Happening

If you love treking in the monsoons, there's a trek being planned at Gambhirgad, a lesser-known region in Maharashtra, almost touching the Dadra & Nagar Haveli border. Not very well known, Gambhirgad fort lies in the coastal region, and what makes it stand out is that it has a peculiar gigantic rock formation at its pinnacle. This unique fort offers a majestic view of the forest region around it, and also boasts of a water cistern embedded into a tall rock; there's also a cave that one can explore, ancient temples and enough greenery to give your soul that much-needed boost.

Spend the noon exploring the various natural rock structures and fort remnants, and then, descend down the ridge onto the other side. The trek ends with a meal at the base village.

The journey begins from Borivali National Park, and the cost per head for this trek is INR 950. This is inclusive of transport from Borivali base village, breakfast and lunch.

Pro-Tip

Make sure you wear quick dry clothes and sturdy shoes. Don't forget to carry ample water, snacks and other necessities you deem fit. Also, it's important that you carry a valid ID proof. Happy treking!
