Like cotton-candy looking chairs and tables that will hide somewhere when not in use? Meet Häuser, a design studio that recently unveiled its debut collection to give rusty steel chairs of yore an arty, French makeover.
If you’ve sat at quaint French cafes by the road you’ll instantly recognise what the Bordeux range is going for. The design is non-fussy and ageless (just like French wine) and they’re all pretty stylish too and will accommodate coffee drinking for hours. Thank God the designs don’t compromise on the functionality aspect (not crazily avant-garde, yay). In fact, the products are heat and weather resistant so you’re not worrying at the first drop of rain every season. Plus they’ve been painted using powder paint that’s not going to wear off easy. Combined with that, we love that they can fold-up and sit pretty in a corner without looking like an eyesore; or there’s always the bed to tuck them under. In short, they’re winning for being spunky and totally sturdy.
We’re filled with nostalgia every time we see foldable tables. A good part of our lives has been spent sitting aimlessly sitting around on these eating moongphali as our grannies knitted jumpers. Thanks to Häuser, we can now recreate those fond summer vacation memories without too much of financial strain.
