From opening its door wide open every morning to let in a flurry of customers and in return, let out a whiff of sweet baker’s air, Gaylord Bakery remains the go-to confectionary for customers both old and new.

Hot Cross Buns

Down the Churchgate lane holding the most resilient and iconic of restaurants and dishes, the creamy ice-cream sandwiches by K. Rustom and the inimitable Bombay Masala by Pizza By the Bay, has been standing tall and strong Gaylord.

Many of us have neatly categorised Gaylord and its bakery under the label ‘synonyms’ in our minds, and from accompanying parents to get a sweet treat there to tumbling into the quaint shop with a group after college hours, the bakery has been part of our lives.

As recent reports had it {as reported here by The Indian Express}, there was news afloat that the bakery must shut shop due to it being an illegal structure.

Here’s a positive update, though, as confirmed by the Gaylord restaurant itself: the bakery is here to stay, and won’t be shutting down. They’ll only be making structural changes to the front, if need be.

So, We're Saying...

It’s all right, folks. It’s a Friday, the sun is shining, and our favourite bakery is still churning out the delicious baked treats, hopefully for the indefinite future. It’s a good day.
