What Is It?
The Gig Week is an independent music festival that was founded in 2011, to create opportunities for young Indian talent from the alternative music space, while also enabling access to live music in India. The festival has evolved to adapt to musical discovery localised to cities, and is present in Delhi, Mumbai and Hong Kong. In January 2018, it will also make its debut in Bengaluru.
Here’s The Dope
This year’s festival in Mumbai witnesses artists like Siddharth Basrur, Tajdar Junaid, Second Sight, Simetri, Tejas, Burudu, G.A.D., Soulmate, The Family Cheese, Aditi Ramesh, Dhruv Vishvanath, Nanok, Cowboy & the Sailor Man and FuzzCulture. Every night of The Gig Week 7.0 will bring in a different flavour as part of the week-long Indie music takeover of the city. They will perform at Lower Parel’s Summer House Cafe, Cafe Zoe, and Todi Mills Social, Khar’s Raasta and antiSOCIAL, and Bandra’s Bonobo.
The festival renewed its association with Jack Daniel’s and announced a new partnership with Budweiser.
