Ten-Second Takeaway

Popular Greek restaurant Thalassa, considered an essential stopover in Vagator, Goa, by any food-loving tourists is reportedly opening a second outlet in Mumbai in the next two to three months.

What Do We Know?

We’ve been keeping our ear to the ground on this one and the rumour mills have been particularly loud: Thalassa, which first came to Mumbai as a pop-up in collaboration with Olive restaurant and bar back in 2013, is in talks with a restaurant group in Mumbai, and is reportedly set to replace Yellow Bar All Day, the terrace restaurant in Khar which has been shut for renovation. The news was first hinted at in a report by daily newspaper Mid-Day about a week ago; the paper followed it up with a confirmation today {check it out here on page 12}.

The news has also been making ripples on social media: popular Instagram handle latenightmumbai also reported the news here.

That’s Not All

Thalassa will have competition from another Goan export, or rather more than one. Another restaurant concept set to launch in Mumbai in the next two months will be bringing popular Goan restaurants and bars to town in monthly rotations.

So We’re Saying…

Can’t head to Goa this monsoon? Don’t fret too much.
