If you’re looking to add some green to the dull corners of your home, buy beautiful handmade terrariums from The Green Bowl. It's time to say 'aloe' to your new friends!
The Green Bowl was started in 2014 by Bandra-based Leah Umrigar. Leah started Green Bowl because she realised the lack of gifting options available to people for housewarming cheer, birthdays or other special occasions. (Psst - this was one of the first places to start making terrariums in the city, so #special!)
The Green Bowl offers beautiful terrariums that have been created with products sourced by Leah herself. She mainly works with indoor plants so you can literally just take a bowl and place it anywhere in the house. You’ll see a lot of greens that make up the bowls, however, Leah tells us she also adds coloured plants. Some of the plants that she uses are Syngonium, Peperomia and other plants that don’t require direct sunlight.
Though these terrariums are made to order, a few are always kept ready for immediate ordering. They can be delivered across Mumbai and are cash on delivery or even bank transfer.
She's recently started making some interesting and colourful planters in animal shapes and more. Elephants or owls? Yep, you'll get 'em here! Another thing we love is that you can now get a DIY kit where you get everything you need to make your own terrariums, as well as miniatures of your choosing.
What we especially love is that these bowls come padded with soil, coloured pebbles, plants and the best bit, tiny personalised figurines. Leah has added figurines of little birds, tiny pandas, bicycles, meditating Buddha and more. And you can even send a customised message that can be written on a pebble. A thoughtful and long-lasting gift? We think so! This has sorted us out for the future housewarming and birthday gifts.
A tiny garden that you can now gift to your friends, family or just add a bit of green to your home. These terrariums are perfect if you’re looking to create a corner in your home without moving around much of the decor around. Don’t have a balcony? Put it on a side table or hang them.
Apart from the terrariums, you can also find hanging ornamental cages filled with plants, flat dishes with plants and more. A regular-sized terrarium starts at INR 1,500 and goes up to INR 5,000 for the largest bowl with extensive plants.
