When it comes to fitness motivation, isn’t Bollywood the most amazing source? And because we need some serious kick up our butt and some super cool suggestions to get us started towards achieving our fitness goals, we got actor Amyra Dastur to tell us how she manages to stay in shape despite all the chaos that surrounds her.

Go-To Eatery

I’m addicted to Kitchen Garden. I order the avocado sandwich there and make sure they use multi-grain bread. The vinaigrette sauce in the sandwich gives it a tangy delicious taste. Sometimes, I go for the burrata salad when I want something quick for takeaway. I always have a juice from there. Either the orange or watermelon juice as I need the natural sugar from the juice to give me some energy.

Cheat Day Picks

It depends on what I want to eat. If it’s pizza, then my first and only choice is Ray’s in Bandra. Their pizza is mind-blowing and delicious. Otherwise, I love to order dal makhni and chilli cheese naan from Zaffran. It’s my favourite Indian dish. When it comes to desserts, however, I love to go to Seven at the St. Regis Hotel. They have a fabulous variety of desserts as well as a white chocolate fountain that you can dip marshmallows and little brownie cubes into.

Go-To Trainer

I’m an absolute fitness freak. I can only do exercises that are physically active and draining. My exercise depends on the day of the week. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I start with dance from 10am-11:30am and then hook off to Body Image for pilates from 12:15pm-1:30pm. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays I have gymnastics from 11am-12:30pm. I also go to Talwalkars which is in my building {literally my reason for staying in this particular building} almost every day or every alternate day for one hour of weight training with my trainer of seven years now, Rahul Basrur. I don’t have a fixed time for weight training, but usually it’s in the evening when I get back from my meetings in the suburbs.

Alternate Workout Options

I would say I’d run at PDP {Priyadarshini Park}. It’s right by the sea so you’d even get that fresh sea breeze during your jog. They also have group yoga and crossfit of you don’t want to train or exercise alone.

Cycling along Marine Drive would be something I’d choose to do as well.
