Saptaparni Mahalanabish grew up watching Durga idols being sculpted, which later piqued her interest in clay modelling. She was always good at painting and a year ago, she decided to share her art with people by making gorgeous statement jewellery using airdry clay. The brand's run by sister duo Saptparni and Shalmoli, where Saptparni handles the design and creation of the jewellery and Shalmoli handles the branding side of things.
Sapta’s brand (that’s her nickname) called Myrtle focuses on rings, pendants and earrings which are handmade using clay. The design is not only intricate and neat, it’s unbelievably stunning. Each leaf and flower on her jewellery is custom made by her and is carefully placed to make the design more aesthetic and unique.
Because the jewellery is not mass manufactured, and she makes each one of them individually with her hands, you will end up having one of a kind piece that cannot land in anyone else’s closet. Exclusivity is one of the greatest plus points that comes with a handmade art brand. This also means that each piece is available in limited stock and does get sold out.
The rings by Myrtle are sold at INR 650 onwards. Her earrings start at INR 1,000.
