The masters of street food fusion in Mumbai have game when it comes to their ‘West meets East’ dishes: we’re loving the ‘pizza dosa’ served at Anand Stall outside Mithibai College.

When Italians Inspire South Indians

Anand Stall bang opposite the Mithibai college in Vle Parle is known for offering at least 50 types of dosa, including the chilly cheese, among so many other styles of preparation. It also serves the open cheese Mysore dosa which is famously known as pizza dosa. Frequented by students, residents and even people from Wadala {we met one there} – it has become the go-to dish to try out for people living in and around Vile Parle.

What We Love

The cheesiness, the freshness and how quickly we’re served the dosa. The fillings include the Mysore masala, veggies, oodles of butter topped with cheese shredding which is then ultimately cut up in pizza-sized bites.

The dosas are served only with chutney and no sambhar but the pizza dosa goes perfectly with the chutney. For the cost of INR 140, you can hog on this desi pizza and jump on the quirky street food bandwagon.

So, We're Saying...

Mama Mia! because if Italians know their pizzas, we know our dosas and at Anand we get a combination of both.
