What Makes It Awesome

Everyone in Mumbai by now knows SoHo House. After all, it's the paparazzi's favourite. While SoHo House may be a members-only space, Cecconi's, their classic Italian restaurant, is open to all. And thank god for that!

I visited the restaurant on a breezy afternoon and trust me when here, you want to make the most of the weather sitting by their sea-facing tables. Start your meal with a refreshing drink- I chose a Cecconi's Spritz. And for starters, I opted for the burrata-cherry tomato-basil and parma ham-melon for appetisers. The cool sea breeze and the delicious food and drinks made it a wonderful experience. I for one love the fact that the staff at Cecconi's is hospitable, yet not intrusive. They let you be and respect your privacy and your choice of doing a long, lazy lunch. They most certainly don't hover around your tables waiting for you to order- a lesson a few fine diners here can learn for sure.

To deep dive into the food, I had the black truffle-wild mushrooms-taleggio woodfried pizza, and when you're here, definitely get yourself one. It's was tasty and light, so it doesn't leave you feeling too full. Fortunately, I can also say that about the rest of the food here. Their spaghetti lobster was hands down a winner, and I can still remember the taste. The lamb chops were the last of the big plates I ate. While I really enjoyed them, personally, the spaghetti stole the show. I topped this off with tasty tiramisu.

The thing about good food is, it will always have a lasting impact. And that's what happened to me here. The food was tasty, options were limited (so no confusion) and everything came to me real quick.

If you're a fan of sea-side restaurants and Italian food makes your heart skip a beat, then there's no reason why you don't need to visit Cecconi's. Go here and make the most of their food and ambience, and keep your cameras handy!
