An adorable yoga cafe located in a quaint corner in the Prithvi Complex at Juhu, Aleph – The Divine Space is perfect for when you feel like indulging in healthy food, doing some yoga or simply hanging around.

A Cafe, Co-Working Space And More

We happened to notice the tiny board with the words ‘Hippie Cafe Upstairs’ on our way out of Prithvi Cafe. Aleph is a Hebrew letter that means the universe, and this cafe has the intended magical vibe.

Aleph is on the first floor of the building, and the minute you enter it, you are greeted with smiles and fairy lights, and if you’re lucky, the extremely hospitable and chatty owner. He immediately chats you up about the cafe, its concept, and recommends something off of the menu based on your gender {he said the men preferred the Moroccan mint tea, and the women tended to love the rose tea). The seating is very simple, yet pleasing to the eye with the colorful mattresses, pillows, and books everywhere.

The cafe was started with the purpose of giving its visitors a homely environment, and that is exactly what it does. It allows its customers to hit the kitchen and cook up a dish or brew their own coffee or tea if they prefer to do so. One can play their own music by connecting it to their Bluetooth sound system, and the mattresses are strategically placed close to one another so that strangers can instantly chat each other up.

This place champions the novel concept of a ‘hippie cafe’, and all they want around there are good vibes. It is exotic in its simplicity, and has it all – yoga, healthy food, good music, WiFi, fairy lights, a beautiful rooftop {yes, that’s true}, along with a very chatty and welcoming staff. It also has packages for start-ups looking for a co-working space with unlimited tea {it’s out of this world} and coffee. The owner proudly states that they are looking for a selective genre of customers at the cafe, and encourages conversations among strangers hanging out at the cafe {he even offered for us to head to the kitchen and make our own coffee/tea/burger if we liked}.

Anything Else?

They have yoga classes everyday from 7am to 10am, post which {11am onwards}, the cafe is open to regular customers. Since it also doubles as a co-working space, they have packages starting at INR 5,000 a month for the space with unlimited WiFi access and unlimited tea and coffee. What’s more, the place even hosts small gigs on its dreamy rooftop every Saturday night from 7pm to 10pm.

So, We're Saying...

Pick up a book, order some tea, and spend the day at this hippie cafe in your pyjamas. Seriously, it’s home.
