A First: Watch A 360 Degree Virtual Reality Film At This Khar Pub On Saturday
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
Kya Yahi Pyar Hai is a story that chronicles a regular-on-the-face happy couple and looks closely into the sensitive issue of Intimate Partner Violence {IPV}. This one is for everyone {above the age of 18} to understand the underlying dynamics of a married/unmarried relationship and how emotional manipulation can spill onto physical abuse.
The entire film has been shot on a Go Pro Camera {a first in India} and you will be watching this film wearing the VR glasses – to make it more realistic and intense. We do advise personal discretion as it can be disturbing and may trigger emotional distress for some.
Why Should I Go?
To experience this VR film, and of course, get educated about this highly sensitive topic that plagues our society so deeply.
To paint a rather grim reality of how things stand in India, according to United Nation Population Fund Report, two-third of married Indian women are victims of domestic violence and more than 55 % women suffer from it daily. An online campaign had been launched in 2015, ‘#BearNoMore’ which encouraged people to come out of their abusive relationship and report such cases.
