Irshalgad is one of the easiest and reasonable one day Trek around Mumbai. "Chauk” is the base village for Irshalgad trek. There are two different ways to reach Chauk, one is from Karjat and another is from Panvel. To reach Chauk from both stations, one can get a state bus or a local bus or a private taxi. Trek starts from Chauk itself. If necessary one can ask villagers for the route. While walking and climbing one can see a lake beside the mountains. It's about 2-3hrs of a climb, which is quite easy. View from the top is worth climbing. There are marked arrows to guide. The final climb is difficult without rope and harnesses. I did not climb the final patch since we didn't have the proper equipment. Though it was a perfect one day Trek, which costs me 90 INR for return travelling Kurla-Kurla.
Also do not forget to carry enough water, as while climbing you may need it. Use shoes with good grip, as it has slippery slopes. Bring your Lunchbox and save some bucks.
