Kotachiwadi, one of Mumbai’s oldest villages built in the 1800’s in Girgaon is home to 28 buildings of grade two heritage, one of which belongs to the esteemed designer, James Ferreira. The ground floor of the 200-year-old house is available for bed & breakfast by the most distinguished person in the area.

An Artistic Getaway

Staying at James Ferreira’s casa will not just give you a unique and artsy experience, but will take you on a tour of East India’s rich history. The best part about the stay is that you can meet and interact with James, who will tell you stories about the place and its history. You can also watch him work at his studio upstairs where he works on designing his clothes.

The simple room is furnished with a bed and a workstation and has an AC and a cupboard. There’s also a master bedroom, if you want to opt for a more spacious stay. The interiors of the house flaunt a lot of antique curios and artifacts with breezy jazz music and curtain & lampshades made of beads.

If you choose to rent the place, you’ll get a stay plus breakfast of eggs and bacon {or anything else you prefer in particular. James is open to experimenting.}

So, We're Saying...

If you are planning to check the beautiful house out, there cannot be a better time. Khotachiwadi is most lit during Christmas and New Year as all the magnificent buildings are decorated with lights and streets are always bustling with laughter and Christmas carols.
