For a piece of true Goan and history and culture, one must go to Joseph Bar Goa – away from the crowd-drawing spots. At the centre of this quaint Latin Quarter, the bar gives you a taste of the old-world charm and a snap of Goan tavern culture.
Coming up from the '70s, Joseph Bar was almost closed in 2017 when Atish Antonio Fernandes took charge in restoring this piece of Goan legacy. The rustic treat of the interiors is filled with trophies of an old watch shop, thick glass bottles of soda, and walls where visitors comment. This is as real a thing as you could ever get for those who long for the simple good times.
