It's only for a few weeks in a year that this plateau turns into a colourful flower belt making it a magical paradise. And it's just a few hours from Mumbai. Located near Satara, this place is home to approximately 800 species of flowers, most which bloom between August and October. Thus, these months are the best time to visit the valley of flowers.
Trek India is organising a tour to the Kaas Plateau this weekend. The meeting point is at Pritam Hotel at Dadar East, at 10:30 PM. However, there are pick up points at Chembur, and Vashi (below the flyover) and Kalamboli too. You reach the base village at 5:15 AM, and after a quick breakfast and introduction session, you'll head for the beautiful exploration of the plateau. From there, you'll further head to explore the Kaas Pathar.
Fun Fact: The plateau changes it colours every 15-20 days as the cycle of flowering plants progresses with the monsoon from August to October.
