If you’re a mountain goat (we say this in the best possible way!) and love climbing and trekking, we’re got some good news for you. There’s a Kohoj Fort trek that’s taking place this Sunday, August 18, where you get to climb 3,200 feet see the temple of Lord Shankar, historical remains, and even a man-shaped pinnacle (naturally formed by rocks), apart from a brilliant view.
Kohoj Fort is close to Vaghote village on Palghar – Wada road. There’s a lake at the base of the fort, and it takes around 2 hours to reach the fort from the village.
You can take the Churchgate-Dahanu local train at 5:20 AM, reach Palghar by 7:20 AM, have breakfast, travel to the base village in the jeep, start the trek after 9 AM, explore the plateau and trek down around 3 PM, reach the base village and have lunch, and then go back to Mumbai.
The price per person is INR 1,100, which includes transportation from Palghar to Palghar, breakfast, lunch and trek expertise.
