What Makes It Awesome

One fine, rainy Friday night, LBB headed to the newest attraction in Lower Parel -- the vibrant F&B offerings at the Penthouse at St. Regis. Picturesque settings, colonial British decor inspirations with Portuguese elements that remind you of old-money homes in Goa! Inspired by a unique blend of Latin American and Asian flavours, ingredients and culture, Koi Bar is a place for all things Pisco and Peruvian.

The space is small yet is made to look spacious with some fab aesthetic picks. The place is done up with mirrors, woody columns, rustic looking wooden furniture, localised light pockets and vases and books stacked on wall shelves. The view is the best thing, hands down! Watching the Mumbai skyline on a rainy evening while sipping delicious drinks is unmatched.

We started with the Pisco and hit the target bang on with The Classic Pisco Sour. It’s exactly what you need after a long week of meetings. The Classic Chilcano was a surprise, bitter and fab. We paired it with Rock Shrimp Tempura with sriracha mayo which was perfect. A special mention to Mango Maki which took our tongues on a rollercoaster ride of flavours. Also, a few must recommend are Lima Sour if you love sour drinks, El Capitan for that subtle hint of cherry and Banera “The Bathtub” for being served in an actual mini bathtub. We would recommend the Robata Wild Mushroom if vegetarian food is your jam.The Edamame Truffle Dumplings were a miss with the saving grace of toasted sesame seeds and garlic flakes.

While the limited food menu doesn’t have us coming back for more, the drinks more than compensate for it. The Koi Bar is definitely an experience you can visit to make a special occasion even more memorable. So the next time you want to enjoy a chill yet fancy date or are celebrating significant moments, head over to this visually delightful place. We can’t wait to go back once there are more food options!
